Kylie Minogue has hailed her boyfriend for ‘caring for her’ and ‘rescuing her’ when she fell ill on tour.
The 52-year-old pop superstar has spoken in gushing terms about Paul Solomons as she reveals how much he has meant to her since they started dating.
Kylie has admitted that she had a “nervous breakdown” after her engagement to British actor Joshua Sasse came to a sudden end in 2017 amid rumours that he had cheated on her with his TV co-star Marta Milans.
It was at one of her lowest ebbs that she met Paul, who is GQ magazine’s creative director, and he has been a rock to her ever since, helping her through some difficult moments.
Kylie has said that at the time she was struggling with the demands of touring and even had to cancel a show due to illness and Paul “came to the rescue” to help her through those tough days.
Speaking to The Sun, Kylie said that her boyfriend has “been great…. he is great,” and that she felt their relationship with “thrown in at the deep end” as she set off on a gruelling tour just after they hooked up.
With Kylie struggling with illness, she said Paul “had to come to the rescue a few times… when I was really unwell.”
Speaking about his presence, Kylie said: “He’d swoop in and hold me in a way that no one else can.”
The singer said that his greatest asset is that he “cares about my fans, he cares about my world, but mostly he cares about me.”
She was introduced to Paul by mutual friends and said “things are really good and he’s excited about this next phase for me.”
Speaking about the breakdown of her relationship with Joshua, Kylie admitted that she felt “broken” when it came to an end and “just wanted to stop.”
She has hinted that now she is in a better place and a better coupling, that she may consider walking down the aisle in the future, though there are no plans at the moment.
Kylie teased: “We’re really low-key, we’re very real, very supportive. We’re just taking things as they come for now, for always. Who knows what’s to come?”
