Jesy Nelson has admitted that she and her Little Mix bandmates may have created some serious competition for themselves on their new TV show The Search.

Jesy, along with Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have reunited post lockdown in a bid to find the next big band.

And it seems as though they might have done just that, as Jesy reveals the group they’ve formed might be taking on theirs in the future.

Speaking to Official Charts, Jesy admitted: “There’s all these different categories, and there’s one that’s based around us – a girl dance group.

“We’re looking for a mix of everything [but] there’s one girl group on the show that… I have no words for how incredible they are. I want it to work out for them so much because they could be massive. They’re very different.”

She added: “It’s funny because they’re the ones that really have to be sick dancers and really good singers as well.”

The series – which is set to kick off on Saturday 26th September – sees the four girls mentor different groups to find the next big deal in British music.

The girls will offer their guidance and wisdom of the music biz to their different groups, and the winning band will even support Little Mix on their Confetti tour next year.

Jesy went on: “It felt like we were watching us years ago. It feels like we’re reliving our past experience.

“Some of the people in these groups honestly blow my mind. It’s so exciting because for the first time I’m like, ‘Woah, this group could actually be huge’. I feel like we really need another group on the scene.”

The brand new talent show is set to hit our screens on BBC One and iPlayer later this month, and it set to be hosted by comedian Chris Ramsey.

Opening up on how filming is going, Jade recently revealed: “It’s been really interesting, because we’ve had to learn to do that ourselves, in terms of getting along and seeing the bigger picture, it’s making groups and seeing the energy.

“It’s quite hard getting the groups to gel.”

Admitting that it’s been a difficult venture to get her groups to click as well as she did with her bandmates, Jade said she really needs to “get it right” to make sure each member complements the other.

She added: “We’re not naive enough to think that’s going to happen with another group we put together, we really need to get it right and look out for them and help them all.”
