It looks like Jason Priestley has an update on former ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ co-star, Shannen Doherty’s battle with breast cancer and it seems like he’s rather hopeful that she will pull through despite it being stage four. The actor assured fans that she is in ‘good spirits.’
While a guest on Australia’s Studio 10 this morning, Jason Priestley chatted with co-host Angela Bishop and opened up about his former co-star, Shannen Doherty’s health after she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.
That being said, the man revealed that ‘I reach out to Shannen every few months, purely to check in on her and say hi. Shannen’s a very tough girl, and she is a fighter and she has always been a fighter. And I know that she’ll continue to fight as hard as she can. Last time that I heard from her, she was in pretty good spirits.’
As you can imagine, his update managed to give fans a little hope that Shannen Doherty was doing well all things considered.
This update comes about 7 months after Shannen told fans about her cancer returning and having to deal with it again for the whole previous year.
Back in February, she shared while on Good Morning America that ‘I don’t think that I’ve processed it. It is a bitter pill to swallow. There’s days when I say…why me? But then I go…well, why not me? Who else deserves this? None of us do. I’d say that my first reaction’s always concern about how I am going to tell my mom and my husband.’
As you might know, the actress was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.
She started undergoing treatment immediately and fought for about two years until April of 2017 when she revealed she was in remission.
Unfortunately, Shannen’s cancer returned and she was already battling the illness while shooting the newest installment of 90210, which aired last year.
