Zendaya had a very special and unforgettable evening at the Emmys! The actress made history as the youngest person ever to win an award in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category for her role in Euphoria and is, of course, very happy and ‘incredibly grateful.’
The 24 year old star is also the second Black woman to win in the same category and during the show, she opened up about her notable win.
Furthermore, she talked about what fans can look forward to in the second season of the HBO series as well during a remote interview for ET.
Still shocked by her amazing win, Zendaya gushed that ‘It’s…I mean, beyond. I do not even know how to describe how I feel right now. I am incredibly grateful and so honored. I just to have my family here, and that love and support in this room meant so much to me – to be able to share this moment with all of them. I am just happy and grateful and just … a lot of emotions happening. You know, the stressful part is over.’
As you know, due to the pandemic, the Emmys was organized online, all the stars being part of the show from the safety of their own homes, with only their closest ones surrounding them and Zendaya was no different.
She had her mother, father, sister, nieces and a few more family members with her and they were just as excited as her about the historical win, if not more!
As for Euphoria, fans are super anxious for season 2 and are wondering what’s in store for them.
Zendaya dished that ‘All I can say is that season two won’t happen for a while, but we have a couple bridge episodes we’re shooting currently that are not really part of season 1 or 2 but kind of give people a little something with Euphoria to hold us over a bit until we are able to do a full season 2. But I am very happy with the work that we are doing so far, and I cannot wait for everybody to see it, really.’
