Phillip Schofield and wife ‘won’t divorce’ until they’re both ‘ready to move on’

Phillip Schofield and his wife Stephanie Lowe are still married and live together in their family home after he came out as gay back in February

Phillip Schofield and his wife Stephanie Lowe aren’t planning to divorce until they’re both ready to move on, it’s claimed.

The This Morning presenter, 58, came out as gay earlier this year, but he has stayed married to his wife of 27 years and they have continued to live together in their £2.5million family home in Oxfordshire.

They have now started talking about divorce but only very casually, it’s reported, and Phil wants to make sure Stephanie is looked after when they part ways.

He is estimated to be worth around £9million, meaning Steph can expect a £4.5million settlement when they finally divorce.

A source told The Sun : “Phillip is in no hurry to meet someone new, but obviously the D word has now been mooted, albeit in very loose and casual terms. His earning power is at an all-time high, and Steph is entitled to half.

“He is not disputing this — all he wants in return is her ongoing loyalty… and discretion.”

Phil and Stephanie married in 1993 and share two daughters: Molly, 27, and 24-year-old Ruby.

Phil’s career is going from strength to strength, with his two presenting gigs on This Morning and Dancing On Ice.

He also has deals with brands including We Buy Any Car and Waitrose.

The source added: “He’s one of television’s most in-demand stars and wants to provide for his daughters and wife in the eventuality of their divorce.”

Mirror Online has contacted Phillip’s reps for comment.

Phil came out as gay back in February and thanked Stephanie for her support, saying: “With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.

“This is something that has caused many heart-breaking conversations at home.”
