Reportedly, Nas was a close friend to Amy Winehouse, and coincidentally, they actually share the same birthday. According to Hot New Hip Hop, Nas and Amy Winehouse first met through a mutual producer, Salaam Remi, and they connected on a creative level.
Rumor has it that her song, “Me and Mr. Jones,” was actually about the rapper and he confirmed it after she died. Earlier this week, Nas took to his account to honor his late friend, sharing a photo of her on what would’ve been her birthday.

Nas referred to Winehouse as his “Virgo twin.” Hot New Hip Hop says Nas’ birthday is also on the 14th of September, although, there is a 10-year difference between them. Amy died after a long struggle with substance abuse.
In other news, Nas was in the headlines when he revealed he was a big fan of Verzuz but he didn’t have any intentions of appearing as a contestant in a rap battle anytime soon. Verzuz became very popular amid the pandemic this year, and since then, artists have continued appearing on it.
