It has been a year of cancelled stadium tours.

But as more and more bands hope to hit the road next year, pop superstar Ellie Goulding has one desperate plea.

Go carbon neutral.

The Love Me Like You Do singer is making her spring 2021 tour as green as possible and says it’s time other acts followed in her carbon footprints.

Ellie, 33, who got her third number one album with Brightest Blue in July, explains: “We’ll try not to fly as much as possible, and we’ll get the train.

“The tour will be minimal and we’re doing everything in our power to make it environmentally friendly.

“I hope other artists follow suit.”

Yet Ellie refuses to condemn other climate change campaigners who preach eco-friendliness but have still taken private jets – possibly music to the ears of her close friends Prince Harry and Meghan.

The formerly royal pair were criticised for using private jets last year.
