Kim Kardashian and Kanye West ‘s marriage is on the mend but still needs “lots of work”, insiders say.
The couple, who married in 2014, have been embroiled in much public drama lately.
It all started when Kanye made a string of controversial comments and cutting remarks about his wife and her famous family during and after his presidential rally.
The rapper said he and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim had considered aborting their eldest daughter North, said he had been trying to divorce Kim for years, that the movie Get Out was about his life and compared his mother-in-law Kris Jenner to Kim Jong-un.
It was reported that Kim, 39, and Kanye, 43, were having “crisis talks” after that and Kim was pictured breaking down in tears during a tense chat with her husband in Wyoming.
After speaking out about his mental health issues and bipolar diagnosis, the couple have been working on their relationship behind the scenes, and insiders say while Kanye is in a much better state of mind, there’s still a lot of work to be done when it comes to his marriage.
A source told People : “Kim and Kanye are doing well. Kanye is in a better mental state. Their marriage still needs work, but Kim is getting across to him. He is not shutting her out and wants to be with his family.”
They added: “Kim continues to be incredibly patient and understanding about Kanye’s desire to run for president.
“She just wants to get through the next few months peacefully. She is kind of standing back while Kanye does whatever makes him happy.”
Kim and Kanye spent the weekend together in Atlanta, Georgia with their kids North, seven, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and Psalm, 15 months, for Kanye’s Sunday Service.
Kanye recently denied claims that he was being paid by the Republican party to distract voters and ensure Donald Trump wins a second term as US President.
The rapper, who insists he is serious about his Presidency bid, made it clear he has nothing to gain from that scenario, saying: “Can’t nobody pay me, I got more money than Trump!”
During a chat with Nick Cannon on his podcast Cannon’s Class, he did his best to shut down rumours that he’s merely a puppet of the Republican party.
Suggesting that he’s basically un-bribable, the billionaire made it clear that he means business when it comes to running for President.
And when asked if it’s reasonable to think that he’ll win in 2020, Kanye said: “I’m not running for President … I’m walking it.”
