Ant McPartlin hardly touches on his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong in his new book with Dec Donnelly, despite their 23 year romance.

Ant and Strictly makeup artist Lisa went their separate ways in 2018, with their divorce reportedly finalised earlier this year.

Their split came after a 23 year romance and 12 years of marriage.

But in Ant’s new memoir with Dec, in which the two delve into detail about their career together, he only mentions her in passing.

In Once Upon A Tyne, penned by the Geordie pair, Ant writes: “…So much had happened to us both.

“I’d gone through rehab and a divorce and Dec had become a dad for the first time.

“These are seminal points in your life, huge moments that, especially in my case, could have gone either way.”

Similarly, Lisa has always opted to keep their divorce a private matter and has kept a dignified silence on the matter.

Mirror Online has reached out to Ant’s reps for comment.

In contrast, Dec writes gushingly on his own big day with wife Ali Astall in 2015.

The pair now share adorable two-year-old daughter Isla.

Dec told of the beautiful wedding gift Ant went out of his way to acquire for his pal – which involved him getting in touch with royalty.

“Prince Charles loves writing letters,” Dec writes, “When I got married in 2015, Ant got in touch with HRH.

“He politely declined the stag do (again, his loss) but he did send a handwritten letter to Ali and me, as well as a lovely wedding gift – a set of placements that were all watercolours he’d painted himself.”

The book is packed with revelations about their career, and even goes into depth about their near-split during Ant’s addiction troubles.

They even considered going their separate ways, Dec admitting things were “scary” and that there was “a real chance we were never gong to work together again.”

But Dec stuck by his pal during his recovery and rehab before they joined forces once more for 2019’s Britain’s Got Talent.

One story recalled Dec’s nasty spider bite on the I’m A Celebrity set that had medics around at 2am.

“Someone said, ‘Dec’s taken a turn for the worse’,” Ant recalls, “and, when the door opened, I saw three medics standing in a circle, looking down on the floor.”

He adds that he took photographic evidence of the episode after he was assured Dec would be fine.
