Gwyneth Paltrow made staff smell her vagina when making her candle

Gwyneth Paltrow’s staff were very dedicated to the design process of her candle ‘This Smells Like My Vagina’, which quickly sold out when it was released earlier this year

Gwyneth Paltrow’s staff had to smell her vagina when making her most infamous candle, it’s been revealed.

The Shakespeare In Love actress, 47 caused uproar when she brought out a candle called This Smells Like My Vagina earlier this year, which quickly sold out.

And according to the chief design and merchandising officer of Gwyn’s lifestyle company Goop, her loyal staff took the product’s development very seriously.

Shaun Kearney told Closer : “For the Goop team, smelling Gwyneth’s vagina became just another day at the office.

“She’s the ultimate embodiment of the brand, and that means ensuring its authenticity with the products.”

The candle actually smells like geranium, citrusy bergamot, cedar, Damask rose and ambrette seed.

Gwyneth said upon its release: “The idea [is] that women have been taught to have a certain amount of shame about their body.

“So, if you just light a candle that says This Smells Like My Vagina, and put it on the coffee table, it’s kind of a punk rock statement.”

Shaun also revealed that Goop staff often try out sex toys in the office.

He said: “You will find staff sitting at their desk with a bunch of needles in their face or wearing a necklace vibrator while discussing which sex toys gave them the best orgasm that weekend.”

“It’s the most hilariously wonderful and crazy environment,” he added.

Goop has caused controversy since Gywneth first started it in 2008.

In 2018 Goop was forced to pay $145,000 ($109,000) for making unscientific claims about vaginal eggs.
