Inside Sarah Jessica Parker’s former home that sold for $18m after she’s branded ‘pretentious’

Here is a look at Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker’s former New York home, after a social media troll called her “pretentious”

Sarah Jessica Parker was branded “pretentious” by a social media troll this week.

The Sex and the City star, 55, shared a quote from 1979 movie The In-Laws and urged her followers to adhere to social distancing rules onto Instagram on Wednesday – which annoyed one follower.

Fuming at her post, the online user typed below the post: “You are so pretentious.”

Having none of it, the American star replied: ” why???? Come on!!!! Why???? Really? What’s pretentious about a photo of a sidewalk? Can we not be more gentle? Ugh.”

And as the beauty – who often uses her online presence to share positivity – stood up for herself, here is a look at her and husband Matthew Broderick’s former swanky New York home.

The enviable property – which the couple are thought to have sold for around $18 million in 2015 – took three years to sell, despite the amazing Greenwich Village location.

The 6,800-square-foot Victorian style property boasted six large bedrooms as well as a modern open plan kitchen and a walk in closet.

Proving that the American star is one stylish woman, the stunning property – which the couple renovated -has been decorated with a clean and classy colour palette.

Natural light floods through the place thanks to large windows, which is amplified by the white walls which keep the rooms bright.

The kitchen opens out to the garden thanks to large bi-focal patio doors and a 6-person dining table and chairs sit in front.

The cooking area features a huge island that is fitted with a sunken sink and marble walls frame the room alongside dark cupboards.

A number of mod-cons are housed in the space – including multiple fridges and a huge oven.

If occupants don’t want to eat in the kitchen space there is also a trendy dining room – complete with a long dining table and concrete style seats.

The room’s windows offer a view of the New York street that property is built on the and metallic lighting fixtures ensure the room has the wow factor.

The living room is minimal which allows the ornate fireplace to take centre stage.

Two brown sofas have been placed in the room as well as a wooden coffee table and wicker stalls.

Large artwork hangs on the walls and there appears to be no television.

A carved-wood staircase leads up to the six bedrooms.

The master bathroom includes a stunning white freestanding tub and a walk-in shower.

The washroom also has its own fireplace and his and hers sinks.

At the top of the property, there is an amazing chill-out area kitted out with a huge skylight.

The top-floor hangout space features a high-design and has a ping pong table and built-in bookcases line the walls.
