Jennifer Metcalfe’s doomed love life before sudden split from Greg Lake
Jennifer Metcalfe announced she split from Geordie Shore’s Greg Lake on Instagram yesterday – but this is not the first time she’s experienced heartache in her love life
Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe announced yesterday that she split from Geordie Shore’s Greg Lake.
Taking to Instagram, she revealed the pair had parted ways amicably a few months ago and will be co-parenting their three-year-old son Daye.
But this is not the first time that Jennifer has suffered heartbreak.
Jennifer, 36, and Greg started dating soon after she was ditched at Christmas 2012 by her former Dancing On Ice partner, Sylvain Longchambon.
Sylvain reportedly called her on Christmas Day to tell her he had feelings for his new TV partner Samia Ghadie.
A devastated Jennifer was left humiliated when Sylvain ended their two-year relationship.
After Sylvain’s bombshell, she told him to leave their home, saying: “I want you out – now.”
The Hollyoaks beauty, 29, told Sylvain to pack his bags after he admitted having “feelings” for his new skating partner.
She texted him afterwards demanding he moved out of their home near Liverpool when he returned from a trip to France.
But just 20 days after the split, she and Greg were spotted together and they were also seen out with his parents.
But she was hit with more heartache in 2012 when she split with her rebound man after just four months, according to her pals.
At the time her friends told the Mirror she “wasn’t ready” for another relationship.
One said: “Jen and Greg were always doomed – she isn’t really over everything that happened with Sylvain.
“She’s a lovely girl and deserves to be happy, especially after everything she went through with Sylvain, which was really humiliating for her. But it doesn’t look like Greg is the one for her.
“They knew each other anyway, but started spending more time together.”
The pair managed to patch things up and got back together.
They welcomed son Daye to the world in June 2017, with Jen describing him as her “miracle baby”.
In 2018 when asked whether she is still in contact with Sylvain, Jennifer confessed she had no contact with him
Jennifer told Express.co.uk when asked whether she is still in contact with Sylvain: “No, no.”
Last month she strutted her stuff in sizzling bikini pictures during the heatwave – but Greg was nowhere to be seen.
After she and Greg split she wrote on Instagram : “Greg and I decided to part ways amicably a couple months ago. We remain friends and we both will continue to happily co-parent Daye and would appreciate privacy during these times.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us before, during and after this.”
The most recent picture of Jen and Greg together on her Instagram page is from July 12, and it’s not known if they had split at this point.
She shared a string of adorable family snaps from their day out at the park with Daye, captioning them: “Fun in the sun.”
Greg, who appeared on the first series of the MTV show alongside Vicky Pattison, Gary Beadle and Charlotte Crosby, shared a very similar statement on his own Instagram page.
