Piers Morgan has got himself a hair cut and attempted to work off some of his holiday indulgences ahead of his return to Good Morning Britain.

The presenter has been lapping up the sun in Saint Tropez recently during his summer break from the ITV breakfast show.

Piers, 55, is now getting ready for his big return by heading to the hairdresser and tidying up his appearance.

Posting on Instagram, Piers joked it would be a difficult task to chop off his mop.

He wrote: “Scissors. Razor. Scalpel,” alongside a selfie taken at luxury Daniel Galvin hairdressers in Kensington, London.

Piers’ fans were impressed with his new look, with one tweeting: “Looking trim (pardon the pun) Mr Morgan.”

“Impressive,” a second wrote and a third added: “Got to be done! Enjoy.”

Piers later shared a snap of himself working out by lifting wood in the garden of his country home.

He even compared himself to Sylvester Stallone’s movie boxer Rocky as he prepped for his big return to TV.

The telly star wrote: “500.. 501.. 502.. Rocky Morgan.”

The star will be back on TV screens across the nation on September 1 after a long summer break in the South of France.

Piers shared plenty of updates from the lavish trip, showing him scoffing delicious dinners and enjoying plenty of red wine in the sunshine.

However, the break was ruined by thieves who burgled his holiday home.

Writing for the Daily Telegraph, his wife Celia called the thieves “depraved and despicable” for taking cash and jewellery from their rented accommodation in Côte d’Azur.

The writer admitted she felt sickened to think the thieves had been in her bedroom while she and her husband slept.

It’s believed they ran off after hearing Celia press the snooze button on her alarm.
