Sam Faiers has revealed she has secretly been battling adult acne.
The former TOWIE star, 29, took to her Instagram account to share a picture of her spots, which have now cleared up.
She said she first started getting adult acne when she was breastfeeding her two-year-old daughter Rosie, sharing they were caused by changing hormones.
Sam, who is mum to four-year-old son Paul, admitted she had been “so embarrassed” of her spots and previously used filters to disguise them in pictures.
The mum-of-two shared two sets of pictures: first two snaps to show her acne, which was on both sides of her face.
The second snap showed her skin looking blemish free.
Sam captioned the post: “I’ve been really nervous about posting this picture.
“The last few years I’ve been very quiet about the fact that I’ve been suffering with adult acne – in my case, it was hormonal.
“After breastfeeding Rosie, my skin just broke out and I couldn’t get it under control. I tried absolutely everything.
“It felt like the more I was doing to stop it, the worse it became.
“I’ve been so embarrassed about it and have used filters on Instagram to try and hide it.
“I would always edit and smooth my skin in pictures and I definitely wouldn’t leave the house without makeup.”
Sam then revealed that she is bringing out a collagen based skin cream that she says helped with her spots.
The reality TV star, who is in a relationship with Paul Knightley, was praised for sharing the post by her followers.
