Rick and Morty is facing calls to be cancelled after a video of its creator Dan Harmon simulating the rape of a baby doll resurfaced.
The video, which was created in 2009, was unearthed originally in 2018 and Harmon apologised for it at the time.
But many social media users have now called for the cancellation of Rick and Morty, which streams on Netflix in the UK, after it was shared again on Twitter.
It was created for a monthly comedy sketch festival called Channel 101 and is a parody of the TV series Dexter.
Harmon opens the video saying: “Hi I’m Dan Harmon. You’re about to watch my controversial new pilot, Daryl.
“Now I have to warn you, I originally made it with Showtime for their audience because it’s a little groundbreaking for normal people to handle.
“But maybe you’ll surprise me. Good luck.
The video then features a skit of Daryl – a parody of Showtime’s serial killer series Dexter – stimulating the rape of a baby doll.

Harmon apologised for it in 2018, saying in a statement: “In 2009, I made a ‘pilot’ which strove to parody the series ‘Dexter’ and only succeeded in offending.
“I quickly realised the content was way too distasteful and took the video down immediately.
“Nobody should ever have to see what you saw and for that, I sincerely apologise.”
Hundreds of Twitter users have shared the video, with many calling on Rick and Morty to be cancelled.
One tweeted: “Cancel Rick and Morty! BAN THIS SHOW! FIRE THE CREATORS!”
“I watched that video. Who wants to burn my Rick and Morty shirt with me?” another posted.
A third said: “It is completely disgusting, and not a joke. If you think raping babies is a hilarious thing to watch, you are completely vile. It’s not dark humour, it’s again, vile.”
“How are yall continuing to watch Rick and Morty bro????” another agreed.
