Peter Andre’s wife Emily MacDonagh has finally joined Instagram.
Doctor Emily, 31, who wed the singer in 2015, strives to stay out of the limelight and that has included snubbing social media – until now.
Mother-of-two Emily previously avoided having an online presence as she likes to protect her privacy and that of her kids Amelia and Theo – so much so that she has banned Pete from posting images of their faces on his own social media.
But it seems that the accomplished beauty has had a change of heart as she unveiled her own Instagram account this weekend.
The brunette is going under the handle @__emily__andrea__ and only has 24 followers at present – including step daughter Princess and husband Peter.
Emily has kept her account private so that anyone who wants to follower her has to send a request – which she can approve or deny.
Teenager Princess advertised her stepmum’s new account on her own page – that she was permitted to open on her 13th birthday – by sharing a selfie with her and tagging her new Instagram.
The close pair can be seen smiling in the snap that has been decorated with a pretty filter featuring pink butterflies.
Medical professional Emily recently opened up on why she does not want the faces of kids Millie, six, and Theo, three, to be seen online.
The doting parent says she lives in fear of vicious trolls attacking her children over their looks after seeing how Pete’s other children Junior and Princess – who he shares with Katie Price – have been treated online.
Proving that Pete supports his wife’s decision, he recently told The Sun : “I respect Emily’s decision to keep the kids out of the limelight.
“I also think that with kids these days, I have to let go of the reins as they are different to our generation.”
Emily added: “You didn’t make that decision at that time, Pete, but now we have the benefit of hindsight as well to see how it has been for Junior and Princess.
“I’ve seen comments where people are horrible about a baby’s looks and celebrity kids.
“‘She’s unlucky she looks like her dad’ and so on. It’s absolutely disgusting.
“Millie has already asked me why her face can’t be shown on TV but I 100 per cent don’t think it’s the right thing to do. I’m sticking to that.”
