Peter Andre’s heartbreak over separation from parents in Australia during lockdown

Singer Peter Andre has been separated from his elderly parents due to the coronavirus pandemic and fears they could get ill in Australia

Singer Peter Andre has spoken about his heartbreak at being separated from his elderly parents in Australia.

The Mysterious Girl star, 47, has been separated from his dad Savva, 87, and mum Thea, 84, since the coronavirus pandemic caused travel restrictions to be implemented between countries.

Speaking to Mail Online, Peter said: “What if they need me? It is such an intense feeling.”

The star spoke about how in the past he would immediately travel to Australia from his home in the UK if his parents needed him and fell ill, but this is not the case during the Covid-19 health crisis.

Peter added: “I speak to my dad pretty much every day. The only saving grace is that my sister is there.

“I know that everyone is in the same position and when you know that… I am not singled out. No one from here can go to Australia.”

The father-of-four has also discussed how he has struggled to speak with his parents over FaceTime.

“It is really difficult not knowing when I’ll be able to see them again in person,” he noted.

Savva and Thea are grandparents to Peter’s four children: 15-year-old Junior and 13-year-old Princess from his marriage to first wife Katie Price, and six-year-old Amelia and three-year-old Theo from his marriage to Emily McDonagh.

Peter also spoke about wife Emily’s work for the NHS on the front line of the pandemic, while he and the kids have taken some time out in France.

Junior and Princess had just returned from Turkey where they had holidayed with their mother Katie, who broke her feet and ankles on the trip.

Peter explained: “She is awesome. She’s a very special person to me.”

He added of Emily’s attitude: “She just gets on with it. She takes everything in her stride. She’s so proud to be working and doing her thing. She says everything in good time, she’s so chilled.”
