Keanu Reeves conspiracy theory says he is an immortal soul and hundreds of years old
The Matrix star Keanu Reeves is renowned for ageing gracefully but some of his fans are convinced that something more supernatural is at work
Hollywood star Keanu Reeves may be ageing gracefully but some think there is another explanation for his youthful looks.
In fact, there is even a whole website devoted to the theory that Keanu, apparently 55, has lived for centuries in various guises.
The theory believes that one of Keanu’s “confirmed” identities was as Charlemagne, King of the Franks and Lombards and Emperor of the Romans, who is believed to have lived from 742 AD to 814 AD.
Prior to his death the following year, Charlemagne called his only surviving legitimate son Louis the Pious, King of Aquitaine to court and crowned him as co-emperor.
The theory cites Keanu’s resemblance to Charlemagne and the emperor’s decision to crown his son as if he knew what would happen as evidence that Keanu and the emperor were the same person, along with the fact that his burial was rushed – citing suspicion.
While the resemblance between Keanu and Charlemagne is clear, the similar facial features between Keanu 19th century medical doctor and actor Paul Mounet are even more vivid.
Mounet found acclaim on the stage and in silent film before his death in February 1922 due to heart disease.
However, the theory suggests that Mounet did not die and instead used his position in the medical community to hide his death.
Allegedly, the doctor’s body was also never found – adding more fuel to the fire that he had never died and lives on as Keanu Reeves.
The actor also resembles the portrait of an unknown man from 1530, shown in the graphic of the website.
Of course, even more suspicious is the fact that Keanu just does not seem to age as the years go by.
Apart from altering hairstyles from choppier shorter looks to longer locks of swaying hair, Keanu’s hair is always on point and still thriving, while his altering facial hair situation also freshens up and changes his appearance.
Finally, Keanu is also renowned for his kindness, generosity, and modest lifestyle.
He famously donated $50 million from his $70 million paycheck from the sequels to The Matrix.
When asked about the decision, according to Hello, Keanu said: “Money is the last thing I think about. I could live on what I have already made for the next few centuries.”
Keanu’s outlook and comment about his money lasting for hundreds of years also convinced further fans of his immortality.
So, what does Keanu have to say about the elaborate theory?
When appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2017, Keanu was confronted with the theory.
He commented: “We’re all stardust, baby!”
Keanu then went on to comment on the likeness between him and actor Paul Mounet, noting the hand gesture in one portrait.
He said: “I can see we have a likeness in the eyes, and the nose… and the moustache, and the beard, and the cheekbones, and the forehead.”
So, Keanu didn’t exactly deny that they are one and the same, but he certainly seemed amused by the whole affair.
What other lives has Keanu lived?!
In the meantime, his iconic character Neo is set to return in the fourth Matrix film opposite Carrie-Ann Moss as leading lady Trinity.
The film will be directed by Lana Wachowski and is set for release on April 1, 2022.
