Chrishell Stause‘s parents didn’t have to search far and wide for their daughter’s name – they invented it!
The Selling Sunset star, 39, found fame in US soaps when she bagged a role on ABC’s All My Children before moving on to different soap operas.
She then got her biggest gig to date on Netflix’s Selling Sunset – but although she’s a well known real estate agent on the series, most people don’t know the meaning behind her unusual name.
It turns out Chrishell’s name doesn’t have that much of a deep meaning to it.
The reality TV star’s name was actually decided for her on the day of her birth.
Chrishell’s mum went into labour at a Shell petrol station, when a worker at the station named Chris helped her mum to deliver the baby.
It was then when the soap star’s mum landed on the name Chrishell, combining the attendant’s name Chris with the petrol station’s Shell name.
Chrishell is currently navigating her way through her mother’s tragic death after she lost her battle to lung cancer.
Taking to Instagram last month, the star shared a string of photos of her beloved mother.
She paid tribute to the fearlessness of her late mum – and wrote that she would be reunited with her father, who also died of lung cancer last year.
Chrishell penned: “In disbelief that you are gone. Feeling just about every emotion, but I find comfort knowing Dad is up there taking care of you and showing you the ropes like only he could.”
She added: “Absolutely heartbreaking watching you take your last labored breath, but there is a peace knowing you two are together again, free from the pain that plagued your time here.
“A free spirit and rebel till the very end. My beautiful Mom, in your own words #F**kCancer.”
Just last year, Chrishell lost her father to lung cancer – with the drummer passing away on Easter 2019.
The tragic news comes as Chrishell struggles to deal with the fall out of her collapsed marriage.
The star was “blindsided” after her marriage to husband of two-years Justin Hartley collapsed in November last year.
This Is Us actor Justin, 43, and Chrishell began dating in January 2014 and tied-the-knot in 2017.
However, the pair split last year – with irreconcilable differences cited as the reason for the divorce.
