Lorraine Kelly ‘s mum has been rushed to hospital but she has assured fans that she is in “safe hands”.
The 62-year-old TV host took to social media to praise the NHS staff at University Hospital Monklands as they looked after Lorraine’s mum, Anne Kelly, who recently celebrated her 80th birthday.
Anne is still living in East Kilbride, where Lorraine grew up, and the Scottish TV star was quick to pay thanks to the doctor that helped out during the medical emergency.
Taking to Twitter, Lorraine wrote: “Huge thanks to Jack Fairweather and all at University Hospital Monklands who are taking such good care of my wee mum.
“Can’t thank you all enough.”

It is unclear the reason why Anne was rushed into hospital but Dr Jack Fairweather is a kidney specialist at the Lanarkshire facility and Lorraine went on to give further details after a well-wisher sought more information.
John Henry Horne, a professional artist, asked Lorraine: “Sorry to hear about your Mum Lorraine going into Hospital, Ive just read. I hope she gets well soon and a speedy recovery. Love you and all the family”

Lorraine quoted the tweet and added: “Thank you so much – she’s in safe hands”
This comes after the ITV host reportedly won the battle to extend her £2million family home, following a previous dispute with neighbours.
She lives in a three-bedroom Buckinghamshire cottage with her husband Steve Smith and their dogs and according to The Sun, it boasts a large living room, a 24ft conservatory and a guest house.

Other lavish features at the property include a 200ft wide garden, boat mooring and a landing stage with views across the Thames.
Lorraine had been planning to extend the side of the house with a 18ft-wide extension.
The extension will also provide extra room for Lorraine in her master bedroom.
Planning permission has now been accepted by the council after receiving no objections from neighbours.

It comes after Lorraine’s neighbours previously rejected the star’s plans to have a pine tree felled.
It’s believed the council rejected the application – which was put forward in order to prevent bird poo and pines from landing on the couple’s cars – after it was branded “whimsical and selfish” by neighbours.
