The Voice Kids: Mel C get emotional talking about Spice Girls
Mel C has reportedly split from her boyfriend of seven years, Joe Marshall.
The 48-year old Celebrity Gogglebox star, who first sparked her romance with the music producer in December 2015 before appointing him as her manager, has always been keen to keep their family life out of the media spotlight.
The pair live in North London with Mel’s 13-year old daughter, Scarlett, and Joe’s two children.
That could be set to change, however, as a source told the Sun : “Mel has an incredibly busy career between her book deal, DJ-ing and other plans.
“The little free time she does have is devoted to her daughter Scarlett, and that doesn’t leave much time for a relationship.”
The source added that the split was ‘amicable’ with Sporty Spice “not afraid to be single if she thinks it’s for the best”.
The split has been amicable, say sources
Spice Girl Mel said of Joe in a rare interview in 2016: “He challenges me but respects and loves me,” Mel said of Joe. “I don’t think I’ve ever been in a relationship where someone has got my back.”
She has rarely spoken about her experience as a parent to Scarlet either– whom she shares with her ex-partner Thomas Starr, now 55.
Speaking last month, however, the mother-of-one revealed that whilst her daughter is “absolutely wonderful” like other teenagers, she can be a “handful” at times, too.
Mel C told OK! : “Any parents of teenagers will know exactly how much of a handful they can be. But she’s absolutely wonderful. She really is my best friend.”

The Celebrity Gogglebox alum also spoke about whether she could imagine Scarlet following in her footsteps as a musician – with her suggesting that it doesn’t seem that way.
She explained in the interview: “Scarlet’s not a singer and she’s not sporty.” Mel added: “She’s on her own path. Where that will lead, who knows? But I’m very proud of her.”
Mel previously opened up about how becoming a parent had changed her outlook on life, telling the BBC almost two years ago that it had been “so liberating” to her.

“For the first time in my adult life, it wasn’t all about me. It made me not only realise I had a huge responsibility to her but I have a huge responsibility to myself,” she had said.
The performer said that becoming a parent made her realise that she had a responsibility to be a teacher to her daughter, which meant she had to “treat [herself] better.”
