Samantha Fox has recalled the “incredible feeling of relief” that she experienced recently after being given the all-clear by her doctor following a “frightening” cancer-scare.
The singer, 56, revealed last month that she was to undergo an operation to remove a 10mm growth in her throat – which had sparked concern that it could be cancerous.
Former glamour model Samantha has said she had been “fearful” over the possibility, but fortunately was told that it was actually a benign polyp – which was removed in the procedure.
She has now spoken about the “very frightening” experience, as well as discussing the moment she got the all-clear from her doctor following the operation on her throat.

She opened up about her experience in an interview with the Sun recently, telling the outlet that she had been “very fearful” but was relieved to later receive the all-clear.
Sam commented about her concern: “I really cried a lot. I’m such a positive person but it’s hard when you’ve got something like that hanging over you. I was very fearful.”
Sam said that it had felt “very close to home” because her late fiancée Myra Stratton had been diagnosed with cancer in 2013, with her passing away two years later.
“I watched her waste away “, she recalled. “That was seven years ago, but when I was waiting for my results it felt like yesterday. All of the memories came flooding back.”

Sam revealed she took comfort in the thought of reuniting with loved ones who had passed – including her late father – in preparation of potentially receiving bad news.
Fortunately, Sam – who underwent the operation shortly after getting married to tour manager Linda Olsen, 48 – was given the all-clear, which was an “emotional” moment.
She commented: “When my doctor finally gave me the all-clear I had this incredible feeling of relief. I was with my mum and my wife Linda, and we were all very emotional.”

“They were telling me to stop crying in case I damaged my vocal cords. Then I was texting all my nearest and dearest to say I was cancer-free. It was a wonderful day,” she said.
Sam, who had been a Page 3 model before achieving success as a singer, said she’s no longer up at night worrying and can’t wait to get back out performing soon.
According to the publication, she’s shortly due to have another endoscopy to establish if the operation left any scarring and will subsequently have six-monthly checks as well.
