Country music singer Toby Keith has revealed he has stomach cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment after the diagnosis.
The musician, 60, took to social media on Sunday to announce the news, telling his fans he has been battling the disease since late last year.
He moved to try to reassure his 1.2 million Twitter followers by insisting it was “so far, so good” as he underwent several aggressive forms of treatment.
The seven-time Grammy nominee wrote: “Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery.
“So far, so good. I need time to breath, recover and relax.”
He concluded his statement: “I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait. – T”
