Charlotte Dawson is pregnant with her first child.
The daughter of late comedian Les Dawson, 27, has announced she’s expecting a baby with her boyfriend Matthew Sarsfield, 28.
She told OK! : “I might have liked to go out and have a good time, but I know I’m going to be an amazing mum and will do anything for my baby.”
The Celebs Go Dating star’s first child is due just one week ahead what would have been her famous dad’s 90th birthday.
Les tragically dies of a heart attack when Charlotte was just eight months old.
But despite her being too young to remember him, he’s always been a huge part of her life, and she even has a portrait of him tattooed on her skin.
Charlotte said: “There’s every chance I could give birth on his birthday. What a tribute that would be!”
The reality beauty and rugby league player Matthew have been together for around four years, and have shared plenty of ups and downs.
They have even appeared on Celebs Go Dating together to iron out their issues in couples’ therapy.
But after all they’ve been through, Charlotte says now is the “perfect” time for them to start a family together.
Matthew added: “We’re both ready for this next chapter. We’ve got a house and we’ve been together for four years. It feels right.”
The pregnancy is welcome happy news for the family, who suffered a terrible tragedy in June when Charlotte’s brother-in-law took his own life.
Charlotte took to Instagram at the time to pay tribute to Glen, the husband of her sister Samantha Southern, and father of her young niece and nephew.
The heartbroken star wrote: “I can’t even believe I’m writing this… I feel sick. My beautiful sister @sammysuns & our family had the most devastating thing happen to us on Saturday morning.
“A family man, the best husband, father & brother in law we could of asked for sadly passed away unexpectedly taking his own life leaving all of us heartbroken especially my sister, his brave daughter @jesssouthernx and my baby niece & nephew who were his complete world, which breaks my heart.
“I promise to look after them forever my cherubs. We all don’t understand and will never know why. However i’m trying to stay strong for my family and thought that I’d make a GoFundMe page that would help support them as this came as such a shock and knocked us all.
“We appreciate you reading it & would be grateful for any support. I’ve linked the page on my story, thank you so much️ You genuinely don’t know what’s going through someone’s head, no matter how happy they look… it’s terrifying. Please everyone always be kind.”
A GoFundMe page set up to support the family explained that Glen had taken his own life after struggling to come to terms with the death of his mother, who died from coronavirus.
Glen was also struggling to run his business in the current climate.
