Dame Barbara Windsor has died at the age of 83 after her brave battle with dementia.

The actress was a national treasure, and enjoyed a career that spanned over seventy years.

While she became known to many as Peggy Mitchell, the landlady of the Queen Vic pub in EastEnders, she first reached fame starring in Carry On films.

The Carry Ons were known for their saucy humour and outrageous innuendos, and Barbara fitted right in playing the role of the good time girl in nine of the films.

From the iconic moment her bikini top flew off in Carry On Camping, to the image of her wearing love hearts on her naked body while getting examined by Dr Nookey in Carry On Again Doctor, Barbara was a massive part of this British institution.

Here we take a look at Barbara’s cheekiest moments in the Carry On films as we remember a legend…

Carry On Camping

Barbara played Babs, a young girl on holiday at a campsite with her schoolmates from the strict Chayste Place finishing school, in Carry On Camping.

She catches the attention of Sid Boggle, played by Carry On regular Sid James.

In the film’s most iconic scene, the schoolgirls do an outdoor aerobics class as men oggle them.

The girls fling their arms out from side to side while instructed by their teacher Dr Soaper, who was played by another Carry On legend, Kenneth Williams.

Suddenly, Babs’ bikini top flies off and lands in the face of Dr Soaper.

Fans will remember the aftermath of the moment, with Babs standing their holding her naked boobs looking mortified.

“Ooh matron! Take them away,” Dr Soaper says.

Carry On Again Doctor

In 1969’s Carry On Again Doctor, Barbara played film star Goldie Locks, who captured the attention of the hapless Dr Nookey.

In another of her iconic scenes, Barbara strips to nothing but red love heart nipple pasties and matching underwear while Goldie Locks is examined by Dr Nookey.

Their relationship doesn’t work, as they can’t agree on getting married.

She had also starred in Carry On Doctor, as novice nurse Sandra May.

In that film Sandra declares her love for Dr Tinkle, who turns her down.

Carry On Abroad

She returned to the Carry On Films again in 1972, this time starring as saucy widow Sadie Tompkins.

Sadie heads off on holiday with Vic Flange (James) and his wife Cora.

Despite his wife being with them, Vic openly flirts with Sadie and their exchanges are responsible for some of the film’s best lines.

When Vic buys her a drink, Sadie asks him: “Have you got a large one?”

Vic replies: “I’ve had no complaints so far.”

Carry On Spying

Carry On Spying, which was released in 1964, was Barbara’s first ever Carry On Film.

She played Agent Daphne Honeybutt, a trainee of Agent Desmond Simpkins, played by Williams.

In one scene her fellow trainee Agent Harold Crump, who is played by Bernard Cribbins, who tries to help her put on her gun holster.

But Daphne’s breasts are too big and he can’t get it on.

A blushing Harold says: “I think you’d best keep it in your handbag Daphne.”

Carry On Henry

In 1971, Barbara starred in Carry On Henry, Carry On’s take on Henry VIII, played by James.

She played Bettina, the king’s love interest and the gorgeous daughter of the Earl of Bristol.

In typical Carry On style, the name had a double meaning as the word Bristol is cockney rhyming slang for breasts.

Speaking to the Queen in one memorable moment, Bettina says: “Your majesty, it is a great honour. The king has done me.”

“No, no, no. No full stop. ‘A great honour the king has done me…'” the King says.
