Mariah Carey reportedly splurged a huge £4 million on her lavish Christmas telly special.
The festive extravaganza, airing on Apple TV+, is said to boast an enormous budget as the star splashed out on roping in her celebrity pals to take art.
The American superstar has recruited a whole host of her A-list pals including Ariana Grande and Snoop Dogg for the show.
Part of the hefty £4 million price tag was reportedly spend on making sure Mariah looked her best for the show.
The 50-year-old diva is said to have splashed out more than six-figures on getting her hair and make-up done.
A source told The Sun : “Mariah does nothing by half and the special was created with huge production values.
“Her styling alone, including hair and make-up, cost more than £125,000, let alone the other £20,000 that she racked up in expenses and costs.
“But everyone who knows Mariah knows she’s worth every penny.”
Mariah is claimed to have wanted the telly special, which shot to No1 in the Apple TV+ Charts in 100 countries after it was released on Friday, to “blow everything else out of the water”.
It did just that in ratings and budget according to the insider who added: “Overall it cost £4million to make, with cash being spent on securing the big names.”
The diva also recruited mega star Jennifer Hudson to star in the special which sees her being recruited by Santa to travel to the North Pole to help solve a festive cheer crisis.
Mariah’s show’s success comes just days after she made history as her iconic tune All I Want For Christmas finally hit the top spot in the charts nearly three decades after it was released.
The festive song, which was released in 1994, finally hit the number one spot in the UK charts on the weekend, 28 years after its release.
Meanwhile, Mariah has been getting back to what she does best recently – releasing more Christmas songs.
