Liam Payne has joked that he could be a ‘bad dad’ for teasing his young son Bear about being on Santa’s naughty list.
The 27-year-old One Direction heartthrob – who shares Bear with his ex Cheryl, 37 – was chatting to Roman Kemp, Sian Welby and Sonny Jay on Capital FM when he opened up about his son looking forward to Christmas.
While Cheryl and Liam are anticipated to shower their three-year-old with gifts, Liam hinted that he does have a cheeky joke up his sleeve.
Speaking to the Capital FM presenters, Liam explained that Bear ‘loves’ the festive season and has even been looking up the chimney.
“He loves Christmas,” Liam said.
“I mean last year was the first time he really got into Christmas I think, and then this year he’s been like, ever since last month been looking up the chimney and shouting up to Santa “are you coming yet Santa?”
However, Liam appears to have considered teasing his youngster about being on Santa’s naughty list.
The singer added: “I still have to do that thing as a bad dad though and say, “are you on the naughty list this year?” and he’s like “what do you mean naughty list? I’m not on the naughty list!” I’m like “you might be!” and he’s all “no, no!”
Liam and Cheryl welcomed their baby boy in 2017 however the couple called it quits the following year.
The stars enjoy co-parenting duties of their youngster.
While Liam Payne appeared on today’s radio show, the singer also teased that he had been in contact with his One Direction bandmates – sparking rumours that a reunion may be on the cards.
Although he maintained that the artists are currently focusing on their solo careers, Liam suggested there was time for a reunion in the future.
He added: “I definitely think in the future there’s time for it, but I think everyone’s enjoying doing their own solo stuff for right now.
“I mean it’s always hard to speak on behalf of everyone because I feel like I get asked this more than any of the rest of the boys, we’ve spoken a lot more over the time of COVID than any time we’ve spoken before which has been great.
“But yeah, sometime in the future I’m sure!”
