Rita Ora, 30, has had her eggs frozen to give herself more time to start a family.

The singer, who started a new relationship shortly before lockdown with 39-year-old video director Romain Gavras, has undergone the procedure twice – once when she was just 24.

She said: “I did my first when I was 24. I don’t want to feel the pressure of, ‘Oh gosh, we’re running out of time.’

“It’s not fair that we have to feel that, you know? And men sort of go around town, like, not thinking about it.”

Asked if the procedure hurt, Rita told the Sunday Times Style magazine : “It does. And I’m not the best with hormones.”

Rita has had a number of high profile relationships, including with reality star Rob Kardashian and DJ Calvin Harris.

But the Hot Right Now singer said she wasn’t sure she had ever been in love.

Asked if Romain was the one, she said: “I don’t know yet. I don’t really know, I don’t know how it feels. How does anyone know anything?

“No, let me correct that. I don’t want it to be like, “Rita doesn’t know if she’s ever been in love.’ I’ve had amazing moments with amazing people. But in anything you just want to be happy. I guess if love is happiness, then, yeah.’

Rita also admitted she “forgot” about being linked to Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Rob, 33, adding their relationship was “very short-lived”.

Elsewhere in the interview Rita talked about fleeing Kosovo as a child with her family during the 1990 war.

And she also said she was planning to have a quiet 30th birthday – giving the interview a few weeks before she was caught breaking lockdown rules.

The singer was forced to issue a public apology and volunteered to pay a £10,000 fine after inviting her showbiz pals to a birthday party in a posh London restaurant, despite the lockdown rules shutting down hospitality venues last month.

She said in the interview, she was “being patient” and delaying her birthday festivities.

Rita said: “It’s going to literally be just my parents and me.

“I’m actually looking forward to it. To just hanging out with my parents. Is that weird?”

She added: “My reputation’s going to go down the drain but [my parents are] my favourite people to hang out with.”

Her comments were published after she was caught breaking the lockdown rules twice.

On November 21 she flew to Egypt by private jet to perform a gig at the five-star W Hotel.

She returned to the UK the next day and was supposed to self-isolate under the lockdown rules.

But instead she threw her 30th birthday party on November 28 at the exclusive Casa Cruz restaurant in Notting Hill, West London.

Rita, whose mum Vera is an NHS psychiatrist, apologised for her party in a statement and said she would pay the £10k fine.

She said: “Hello all, I attended a small gathering with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday.

“It was a spur of the moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be OK… I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk.

“This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.”

Then she issued another apology for not self-isolating on her return from Egypt.

She said: “I recently flew to Egypt to perform at a corporate event for a private company, where my travel party followed protocol and presented negative Covid tests upon entry, as required by Egyptian authorities.
