I’m A Celebrity star Vernon Kay says the show’s winner Giovanna Fletcher has all the skills needed to become a chat show host like Oprah Winfrey.
Vernon who came third in the show behind Giovanna, 35, and DJ Jordan North, 30 said the mummy blogger could become the UK’s answer to Oprah and is “perfect” for the role.
The All Star Family Fortunes presenter, 46, said Giovanna has a similar ability to listen as the legendary US host, before sharing her wisdom.
He told The Sun : “We had a good chat last night and I said that it takes a strong person to sit and just listen, and not comment.
“When you talk to Giovanna about anything emotional, anything personal, she’s such a strong woman that she sits and listens.
He added Giovanna “doesn’t butt in”, and “lets you reel off what you’re feeling” and “comes back with a comment when she knows someone is finished speaking”.
Giovanna is married to McFly star Tom Fletcher and shares three kids with him.
Vernon added: “She’s an amazing lady. I think it’s because her and Tom are such a tight unit – it goes to the strength she’s got in her family, that she’s become that person.”
He said he thinks Giovanna could go on to emulate Oprah.
He said: “I’m going to go on the record and say to you she would be perfect for that role because she’s so bright and intelligent.
He said Giovanna is a “well-deserved winner”.
Vernon was reunited with his wife, Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly, 51, and their two daughters Phoebe, 16, and Amber, 11.
Vernon told how his family had “jumped through the roof” when it was announced he had made the final three.
He said Tess was so proud when he got to the final and was with their daughter Phoebe when they heard he had progressed.
Vernon said hearing he made the final reassured him of reasons why he went on the show – “for the girls and to make them proud”.
Vernon has not seen Tess since October and said she was just “elated” for him.
