Tyson Fury was feeling proud over his and Mike Tyson ‘s epic weight loss which saw the boxers shed 22 stone combined.
Fury – whose younger brother is former Love Island star Tommy Fury – took to social media to share the pair’s incredible body transformations after returning to the ring following their respective breaks.
Fury, 32, decided it was time for him to get back in the ring and showcase what he’s got after a three-year hiatus, which came shortly after he defeated Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015.
And he admits he let himself go during his time off, as the boxer piled on the pounds which saw him weigh 28 stone.
It seems as though his unmatched willpower saw him shed weight quicker than ever.
After Fury took on Deontay Wilder for a rematch back in February this year, the boxer weighed an impressive 18 stone, according to his former trainer Ben Davison.
Meanwhile Iron Mike, 54, admitted he also struggled with his weight after he lost to Kevin McBride in 2005.
Mike reportedly ballooned up to 27 stone during his very long break away from the ring, however the champ wowed fans all over the globe with his athletic build when he fought Roy Jones Jr last month.
Mike showed that anything is possible as he weighed 15st 7lbs – making this weight loss journey nothing short of an epic one.
Taking to Instagram to share their slimmed-down frames, proud Fury penned: “Friday inspiration from the 2 TYSONs. @MikeTyson – Hard work pays off.”
It comes as Fury asked the BBC to remove him from the shortlist for the Sports Personality of the Year award.
Fury is one of six athletes in the running for the award with the winner announced on December 20.
But Fury claims he has no need for awards and would rather have the adulation of his fans.
“This is a message for the BBC and the SPOTY award,” he said in a video posted online.
“Please take me off your list, I am the people’s champion and have no need for verification or any awards.”
He added: “I know who I am and what I’ve done in sports, the love of the people is worth more to me than any award in the world.
“To all my supporters, please don’t vote for me in this and take me off the list.”
However his request was rejected by the BBC, who responded: “The shortlist is decided by an independent expert panel who choose contenders based on their sporting achievement … on this basis Tyson Fury will remain on the list for SPOTY 2020.”
