Maya Jama has debuted brand new honey-coloured locks to the joy of enamoured fans.

Taking to her Instagram Stories with the fresh look, courtesy of the first post-lockdown salon trip, she declared: “‘I’m a blonde now hunnies!

“I was going to post a picture but got too excited!

“I’m like a whole new b****! I think this is the new me hunz. What shall I call myself? Lena!”

Maya’s hair revealed comes after the reveal that she managed rack up a millionaire fortune by the age of just 24.

Now 26, the Radio 1 DJ has revealed that she joined the millionaires’ club “two years ago” – but being rich was never her goal.

“You do something you enjoy and then you get paid for it and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is so cool!'” humble Maya remarked.

She’s used some of her fortune to buy her own place in south-west London, and had hunkered down with a pal for the second lockdown.

An insider recently told The Sun : “Maya has been grafting for years, honing her craft, but this year she’s really come into her own.

“After leaving Radio 1 in May she said she had exciting projects and she wasn’t wrong.

“Landing a presenting gig alongside Peter Crouch on his BBC primetime TV show Save Our Summer was massive, and it’s just the start.”

Maya’s also enjoying single life, having split from boyfriend of four years and grime rapper Stormzy in 2019.

She says she’s “not actually looking”, and admits she’s nervous about her next big relationshiop.

“It makes me nervous [about] who I’m going to be with next,” Maya told The Evening Standard, “because if they aren’t in the public eye already, maybe they’re going to be brought into [it].”

Maya’s carved out a considerable social media following, and has been lauded for her no-nonsense approach to online trolls.

One recently called her a “sl*t” on Instagram, to which Maya commented “pr*ck” on one of their photos.

Sharing a screenshot of her comeback, Maya laughed: “If you can’t beat ’em…”

Others targeted her over her wardrobe for Save Our Summer.

“I found it ridiculous,” Maya told MailOnline.
