Zac Efron ‘splits from girlfriend Vanessa Valladares after five-month romance’

Zac Efron and his Australian girlfriend Vanessa Valladares have reportedly split after just five months of dating.

The 33-year-old heart-throb and his 25-year-old girlfriend are believed to have called it quits on their whirlwind romance after they were reportedly forced apart because of Zac’s work commitments.

According to The Sun ‘s Bizarre column, Zac had to jet from Byron Bay to Adelaide for his latest acting role in Gold and the distance had taken its toll on the lovebirds.

It came shortly after the former couple are reported to have even looked at buying a home together, with Zac looking to make Australia his permanent place of residence.

“Zac and Vanessa looked like the real deal. They were besotted with each other,” the insider said.

“So once he decided to stay in Australia long term, he suggested they buy their first home.”

However, the relationship was reportedly rocked when distance took its toll.

“They’d started to look at a few places but, sadly, fate wasn’t on their side. Zac’s work and the ­­enforced distance has really taken its toll,” the insider added.

The insider goes on to suggest that it might have been more of a “holiday romance” adding: “Friends hope they can reunite, but it seems their relationship was more like a holiday romance than they cared to admit.”

A representative for Zac has been contacted by the Mirror Online for comment.

News of their alleged split has come as quite a surprise for fans as the couple appeared to have been going from strength to strength.

Having met only in July, it was reported that the Hollywood actor surprised his girlfriend with a ring at his 33rd birthday bash in October.

The couple even enjoyed a romantic skiing trip down under in recent months before their romance reportedly hit the rocks.
