I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! producers are hoping that the installation of a hot tub will bring sex appeal to the current series.

The relocation to Gwrych Castle in North Wales after the coronavirus pandemic put paid to travelling to the the usual location in New South Wales, Austalia.

This has meant that the much talked about waterfall shower is missing this time and viewers are not finding the campmates showering in a tin bath as ‘sexy’ as previous moments under the waterfall.

The heat of the jungle Down Under has also meant there have been bikini moments in previous years but this time, the campmates have wrapped up against the winter cold in the castle.

While campmates last year made a pact to ensure that any showering was blocked from cameras and Lisa Snowdon has spoken out about feeling uncomfortable about the shower scenes, producers have felt that they need to sex up this series to keep viewers watching.

While former Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard needs no excuse to strip to his budgie smugglers, the producers are hoping the hot tub will encourage others to follow suit.

A source told The Sun that previously viewers had seen “celebrities lathering up in the waterfall.”

The source added that this has “become a big part of I’m A Celebrity” and it “feels really odd not to have it” after years of the waterfall shower being one of the ‘moments’ of the series.

The source said that there’s a feeling “the series has suffered” for not having this and that this “sort of shot” has been difficult in “an old castle”.

With this in mind, the hot tub will hopefully bring “a slight glamour boost”.

They added: “I can tell you, it was certainly no mean feat to plumb it into a crumbling castle.”

The hot tub was put to use for the first time last night, with Giovanna Fletcher, 35, Vernon Kay, 46, Hollie Arnold, 26, and Russell Watson, 53, being the celebs selected to give it a whirl.

There is going to be a push by producers to find other ways to bring the hot tub into play as the series continues.

The bosses might still be left wanting though as the campmates become ever more aware of the shower moment.

Kate Garraway revealed that the female campmates had a pact last year to ensure any revealing shots were blocked.

Lisa Snowdon has also said that she felt uncomfortable showering when she went into the jungle in 2016 because of how ‘sexualised’ it had become.
