Katya Jones says she’s never had a ‘good’ date despite 11-year romance with Neil

Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones has insisted that she’s never been on a good date.

Katya made the revelation despite being with fellow pro Neil for 11 years, and being married to him for six of those.

The couple decided to go their separate way last year and remain on good terms, insisting that their split had nothing to do with Katya’s 2018 kiss scandal with celeb partner Seann Walsh.

Taking to Instagram for a fan Q&A, Katya was asked what was the best date she’d ever been on.

“I haven’t actually been on that many dates in my entire life,” she shared, “None of them really stick out as good ones, or the best.”

She added: “Maybe that’s still to come!”

The couple shared a statement last year: “Hi everyone. As our fans and loyal supporters you are really important to us and so we wanted to let you know some news. After 11 years we have made the mutual decision to separate.

“We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends.

“This will never change what a great team we make and we are really proud of everything we have achieved together.

“Our shared love of dance means we will keep working and dancing together as well as exploring individual projects. No matter what we do we will always support and respect each other.”

Katya this year made history as one half of the show’s first same-sex couple with Olympic boxing champ Nicola Adams.

But she and Nicola were forced to pull out after Katya received a positive Covid test.

As the two self-isolated, show bosses reasoned it wouldn’t be fair for them to make a return after missing two weeks.

But it’s thought they will make a return for the final because the BBC wants “to do something special” for the duo.

Nicola previously told: “It was a little frustrating not being able to continue when I’d just got back into the swing of things and felt like I was enjoying the dancing and everything.”
