Midnight Sky singer Miley Cryus has explained how she is now two weeks sober after
Miley Cyrus has revealed that she is now two weeks sober after ‘falling off’ during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Wrecking Ball singer, 28, has discussed her relationship with sobriety during the coronavirus crisis.
Speaking on Apple Music’s New Music Daily, Miley told Zane Lowe about how she had struggled in lockdown.
According to People, Miley said: “Well, I, like a lot of people, being completely honest, during the pandemic fell off and felt really a lot of … and I would never sit here and go, ‘I’ve been f***ing sober.”
“I didn’t, and I fell off and I realized that I now am back on sobriety, two weeks sober, and I feel like I really accepted that time.”
The Midnight Sky singer then explained how she has managed to no longer consume alcohol.
Miley explained: “I don’t have a problem with drinking.
“I have a problem with the decisions I make once I go past that level of … even into, I’ve just been wanting to wake up 100 percent, 100 percent of the time.”
She added: “I’m very disciplined. That’s why it’s never easy, but it’s pretty easy for me to be sober or in and out of sobriety because it’s like the day I don’t want to f***ing do it anymore, I don’t.”
Miley also spoke about why her 27th year on Earth was important to her, considering it was the age at which artists such as Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse died.
“That actually really made me want to get sober was because we’ve lost so many icons at 27,” she noted.
We’re so glad Miley is still going strong!
The remarks come after Miley told the Joe Rogan Experience podcast in September how difficult it was going through a very public divorce to ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.
“I recently went through a very public divorce that f***ing sucked,” she explained. “What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we don’t love each other the way that we used to anymore.
“That’s okay, I can accept that. I can’t accept the villainising, and just all those stories.”
