Maisie Smith admits to flirting with HRVY and refuses to rule out romance

Maisie Smith has admitted there had been an “instant connection” with HRVY and hasn’t ruled out a potential romance in the future.

Sparks have been flying between Maisie, 19, and HRVY, 21, as they continue to battle it out for the trophy on Strictly Come Dancing.

The pair have even exchanged some flirty messages on social media but have so far maintained that they are just friends.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, the EastEnders star has finally admitted that she has enjoyed getting to know the musician.

However, she went on to suggest that it might just be platonic for now.

“It’s a weird one. We get along so well – there was an instant connection between us – and I knew straight away that we would be friends,” Maisie told the publication.

“Yes, there’s been ‘flanter’ [flirty banter], but I think it’s platonic.”

Maisie – who had faced several dance off’s during her appearance on the BBC show so far – went on to reveal that there is some ‘harmless flirting’ between the pair behind the scenes.

Maisie continued: “We have such a laugh and, of course, there has been a bit of flirting… but it’s been harmless! I’ve not been thinking about boys at the moment. I haven’t had time. I’ve been liking getting to know him.“

When quizzed about whether their flirting could lead to something more serious in the future, the actress teased that she hadn’t ruled anything out so far.

“I think it would depend on how we did it,” she continued.

“Right now… I think it’d be a ‘no’ as I love the friendship we have and I don’t want to ruin that, but I don’t know what’s going to happen a couple of months down the line.”

Maisie’s latest admission comes as the pair continue to fuel rumours that they could be getting close while they compete on Strictly Come Dancing.

Just days ago, Maisie and HRVY were pictured in high spirits as they were pictured leaving the Strictly studios within minutes of each other.
