Jason Momoa has revealed he and his family “were starving” after he landed his breakout role on Game Of Thrones.
The 41-year-old father-of-two has opened up about the “very challenging” time as he struggled to get work after appearing in the fantasy series before it became a hit for HBO.
The actor, who shares daughter Lola Iolani, 13, and son Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha, 11, with wife Lisa Bonet, 52, has heartbreakingly claimed: “I couldn’t get work. It’s very challenging when you have babies and you’re completely in debt.”
He’s since gone on to find huge success from the series and land the role of Aquaman, but Jason has revealed things weren’t always this good.
The actor told InStyle in an interview this week: “I mean, we were starving after Game Of Thrones.”

During his chat with the publication, the actor spoke candidly about receiving therapy as he navigates the world of mega fame.
“I’m amping myself up all day long, and then my nervous system doesn’t know that I’m not lopping people’s heads off,” he said.
“For me to relax and sit still is next to impossible.”
He also spoke about his relationship with his son, Wolf, saying: “I didn’t know what it takes to be a dad.”
“And I don’t want to just tell my son, ‘Because I said so.’
