JLS star JB Gill attacked and wife threatened with knife in terrifying 3am raid
JLS singer JB Gill is said to be doing okay after he was attacked when he confronted raiders at the farmhouse he shares with his wife Chloe and their two children
JLS star JB Gill was attacked as he confronted raiders who broke into his farmhouse in a terrifying 3am raid.
The singer, 33, who is now a farmer, shares his home with his wife Chloe and their two children.
Chloe, 32, was said to be left distraught after being threatened with a knife before the gang of four fled the couple’s £1.5 million home with valuables.
During the confrontation, JB was sprayed in the face with an unknown substance. He was taken to hospital for treatment but is now said to be doing okay.
A spokesman for JB told The Sun : “The family are all well and safe, having increased home security.”
The publication was told that while the family were “extremely shaken” by what happened, they escaped without serious injury.
They’ve increased security at their secluded home and police are said to be investigating the incident.
It’s also believed officers have informed the National Crime Agency amid fears that it could have been the actions of an organised crime gang who are targeting locals in the area.
A source told the newspaper: “This was a terrifying incident. JB was sprayed in the face and the gang threatened Chloe with a knife.
“He wanted to protect her and their kids but the best way to do that was to cooperate with the gang.”
The insider added that police and medics rushed to the house and took JB to hospital to be checked over.
He was able to leave later that same day.
JB’s life these days is very different to when he shot to fame on The X Factor as part of boyband JLS in 2008.
They group split in 2013 with an estimated £6m fortune each. They had been due to reunite but their tour was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
He took up farming after buying an 11-acre property on the outskirts of London.
He grows vegetables and breeds livestock, including pigs and turkeys.
Speaking once about his farm, he said: “The pop star lifestyle is full-on. You don’t get much time off so I wanted somewhere peaceful I could escape to. Here became the perfect place to relax and recharge.
“It’s the ideal place for them [his family] to enjoy the British countryside.”
Neighbours have reportedly said there have been a spate of burglaries and car thefts in the area.
