On paper, you wouldn’t expect professional quizzer Shaun Wallace and Love Island reality star Jack Fincham to have a lot in common.
But this week fans will have noticed their “bromance” in ITV’s new reality show Don’t Rock the Boat.
“I just love that boy,” the 60-year-old Chaser said.
“He knows I love him. Me and Jack definitely had a bromance going on and everybody could see that.”
Shaun and Jack, 29, are among 12 celebrities competing in the race to reach John o’Groats from Land’s End.
Better known as The Chase’s Dark Destroyer, Shaun joked everyone seemed to couple up just like on Love Island.
“There were various couples who paired up. We had the Fincham and Wallace show; we had Lucy Fallon and Joe Weller; Tom Watson and Craig Charles – the grandads – they were fantastic… everyone teamed up and had little partnerships going on.”
Joining them are Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis, English supermodel and broadcaster Jodie Kidd, singer-songwriter Fleur East, Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton, actor Adam Thomas and Pussycat Doll member Kimberly Wyatt.
He jokes about Tom and Craig being “the grandads”, but competitive Shaun is the oldest celeb taking part – though that only spurred him on to be the best.
“It was the hardest physical and mental challenge I have ever had to experience,” he said.
