The I’m A Celebrity line up will officially be unveiled on TV on Sunday night.
In a break from the traditional way the celebrity names are released, bosses have decided to reveal the full line up at the end of an ITV programme celebrating the 20th series of the jungle show.
Millions were expected to watch ‘I’m A Celebrity…A Jungle Story’ as it features Ant and Dec doing Bushtucker Trials for the first time.
But the news it will also feature confirmation of this years campers will likely increase the audience even more.
Normally the names are given out alongside photos of the celebrities to the media and on social media just a couple of days before the show starts.
But an ITV source said: “It’s all change this year in terms of location for the show and how we are doing things.
“We have made a show looking back at the best jungle bits over the years and so we also want to look forward to November 15 when the show begins this year.
“We felt the best way to do this was to show the first glimpse of the official celebrity line up for 2020 on screen.
“Fans will then have a week to speculate about who could be king or queen of the castle before the series kicks off.”
The rumoured line up includes Shane Richie, gold medalist Sir Mo Farah, Coronation Street star Beverley Callard and Vernon Kay.
Other names in the frame are Russell Watson and EastEnders’ Jessica Plummer.
The ITV source confirmed the majority of names “are out there” but highlighted the fact that most series also feature some wild card late entry contestants, meaning there could be a few more celebrities still to be announced.
The show this year is relocating to Gwrych Castle in North Wales because of the coronavirus.
The celebrities involved in the show are also understood to be in isolation now.
They would normally arrive in Australia a few days before the start of a series and isolate with no phone or outside contact before meeting their campmates.
This year that has been extended to reduce the risk of them getting coronavirus, although they will still be regularly tested before entering the show.
Bosses hope the change of location will freshen up the show and with the whole of England now in lockdown for November it could also see record ratings for the series.
