John Sessions cause of death from heart condition as comedian dies aged 67
Comedian John Sessions has died after suffering from a heart condition at his home in South London. The Have I Got News For You star was 67 years old at the time of his death
Spitting Image star John Sessions has died at his home after suffering from a heart condition, his agent has revealed.
The 67-year-old Scottish television star, known for his work on Have I Got News For You as well as QI, died at his London home on Monday 2nd November.
Sessions’ agent Alex Irwin confirmed the tragic news in a statement, explaining that John “died at his home in South London from a heart condition”.
Tributes have flooded in for the iconic performer, whose career in the spotlight spanned almost five decades.
Born in Ayrshire, Scotland, Sessions studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in the 1970s before shooting to fame for his work in Spitting Image and Stella Street.
John also appeared in several comedy improv shows such as Whose Line Is It Anyway? and panel show Have I Got News For You.
Aside from his work in television, the actor had also appeared in a number of radio plays as well as Shakespearean adaptations.
In more recent years, the actor has also appeared in dramas such as Skins and Outnumbered.
Social media has been flooded with touching tributes as the entertainment world reeled from news of the icon’s death.
“His incredible wit and encyclopaedic knowledge played a huge part in the show’s history and everyone at QI is deeply saddened to learn of his passing,” a statement on the QI Twitter page read.
Peep Show’s Robert Webb wrote: “Bobby Ball and now John Sessions! Two very different performers who both absolutely inspired and delighted me at different times. Lovely, funny men.”
“John sessions… was mega bright and funny.. that’s a great shame. RIP,” penned Blur musician Graham Coxon.
