Jaden Smith Opens Up About Experiencing Anxiety And Working On New Music During The Quarantine

Jaden Smith has been struggling while in quarantine as well, just like everyone else! That being said, the actor and singer opened up about his anxiety during this time but also dished on taking the opportunity to make music during his chat with Apple Music.

It sounds like the 22 year old star has some new songs that he’s been working on so fans should be looking forward to that.

Jaden Smith opened up about his mental health, admitting that before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown he had not really experienced any anxiety.

Obviously, that has changed in the past few months.

Jaden told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe during his interview that ‘The anxiety is going through the roof for everybody, and it’s crazy. And I never knew what anxiety was until recently, either. I am just stressed about everything, and it is really crazy. It does not happen to me too much, but when it does it’s very strong … Sometimes it is work-related, and sometimes, you can really see that it’s that true, genuine anxiety, where it’s like anything and everything.’

He went on to share that in order to get over it, he’s been ‘talking about it with people’ and that method is apparently very effective in his case.

‘We’re all being aware of the different mental health issues in the world right now, because we’re all being isolated with ourselves, so we are very much so being confronted with our thoughts. Some people are ok with that, and some people are not,’ he dished.

When it comes to his music, Jaden also talked about his decision to go by his first name as a singer and admitted that his sister Willow Smith, who also goes by her first name, inspired him to do that.

‘I was like, ‘Yo. That is so strong.’ You feel like you do not have to say your last name. You’re just Willow,’ Jaden explained.

For him that also served as a way to compartmentalize his careers, saying that he will continue using Jaden Smith as an actor and just Jaden as a singer.
