Sharon Osbourne revealed that she was “terrified” to tell her family that she had undergone an abortion when she was 18 years old.
The 68-year-old icon, who has been married to rock star Ozzy Osbourne for 38 years, what discussing the topic of pregnancy on The Talk when she opened up about her own experience.
During the show, the panel were talking about how Jamie-Lynn Spears had felt that she needed to “hide away” when she became pregnant at 16.
Sharon then revealed to her co-stars that she could understand where Jamie was coming from after she fell pregnant as a teenager.
The mum of three was so worried about her dad going “ballistic” that the former X Factor judge didn’t tell her mum until after she had undergone the abortion.
“I was pregnant at 18, I was just 18,” Sharon explained during the show.
“I was terrified to tell my parents. Terrified.”

She continued: “Especially my father. They would have been disappointed in me. I would have been a failure.
Sharon eventually decided to terminate the pregnancy before coming clean to her mum.
“I would have been…my father would have just gone, oh, ballistic,” she added.
After undergoing the procedure, Sharon was forced to explain to her mum why she had become ill.
The star continued: “I came home, I was so ill, I was so thick, and I had to tell my mother because she was calling the doctor, and I had to tell my mother.
Her mum responded: “You did this. You’ve got to go through this on your own.”
It would be another 12 years before Sharon welcomed her first child – Aimee – with Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne.
The couple’s other two children Kelly and Jack followed a few years later.
Sharon’s latest discussion about her abortion came shortly after the television star bravely opened up about trying to take her own life four years ago.
In an earlier appearance on The Talk, she revealed: “I tried to take my life and it wasn’t for attention. I just couldn’t bear it.”
However, Sharon turned her life around after seeking professional help and encountering two young girls at the facility.
The mum of three went on to explain that the two girls had both lost their mothers to suicide, and the stories had shocked her into ‘getting it together’.
