Davina McCall is beaming in her festive red trouser suit… and she has good reason to smile.

The star, who is a judge on ITV’s The Masked Singer, is spreading plenty of early Christmas cheer after her eldest child recovered from a bout of Covid-19.

Excited Davina, 53, has already started shopping for December 25.

She jokes that she’s planning to hang up the Christmas lights by Halloween. The presenter said: “I am buying stocking stuff already. I love any seasonal holiday, any excuse to put on… dodgy music and play games.”

Mum-of-three Davina is feeling festive despite the scare from Holly, 19.

The student rang from Newcastle University to say she had contracted Covid-19 within 10 days of starting.

Davina said: “Most of the halls she was living in had it. Every person got through it because teenagers just don’t have an issue with it. They’re all fine now.”

Davina joked: “I am assuming she’s not going to get it again which means she can come back, after drinking with a thousand people the night before, knowing she’s not bringing it into the house.”

The former Big Brother presenter hopes she, Holly and other kids Tilly, 17, and Chester, 14, will all be together for Christmas.

She said: “If the Government says she can’t come back, that would be tragic.” They are living in a £3.4million Kent mansion Davina has been renting since her 2017 split from second husband Matthew Robertson.

They were all together for a 12-week period during lockdown, which Davina described as a “magical time”.

She did admit she had been anxious that her television work could dry up.

But she has already finished filming series two of The Masked Singer, which returns next year, and has been named as the presenter of Changing Rooms, a BBC show being rebooted on Channel 4.

She said of The Masked Singer: “I wouldn’t have been surprised if we couldn’t have got the sort of names we got in the last series – but as the masks come off, you will not be disappointed. At one stage I actually had to sit down, I couldn’t believe who was underneath.”
