Matthew McConaughey’s son, 12, looks just his famous dad in rare family snap

The eldest child of Matthew and Camila Alves McConaughey has inherited his dad’s good looks. Levi, 12, was seen sporting his dad’s famous curls in a picture with his mum

Matthew McConaughey ‘s son Levi, 12, looked the spitting image of his father as he was seen in a rare family snap this week.

The actor, who won an Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, proved the apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree when it comes to his eldest child.

The actor’s wife, Camila Alves McConaughey, shared a photo of herself with 12-year-old Levi to her Instagram on Friday.

The pair were snapped drooling over a giant chocolate chip cookie as they celebrated the release of Matthew’s new book.

It didn’t take fans long to point out just how much young Levi looks like dad Matthew, 50.

Gushing over the father-of-three and his strong genes, one took to the comments to write: “Omg that’s a mini Mathew McConaughey right there.”

Another said: “Oh my goodness if there is more of a resemblance than this. Clone of his father! You and Matthew made beautiful children.”

While a third echoed: “I’m a new follower but is that yalls son?! I’m kinda assuming because he looks like a mini Matthew McConaughney!! Ha.”

The McConaugheys also have a younger son Livingstone, eight and a daughter Vida, 10.

Matthew’s rare snap of his dead ringer son comes after he bravely shared the horrifying abuse that he and his mother endured at the hands of his late father.

The actor said his abusive dad broke his mum’s finger four different times during violent rows.

He described the relationship between his mum Kay and dad James (Jim), who died in 1992 aged 63 before Matthew was famous, as toxic and says they communicated through rage.

The couple split a number of times and even married each other three times and divorced twice.

Matthew has shared the heartbreaking story in his new memoir Greenlights, printing a picture of his mum’s bent middle finger to show what happened.

The actor, who says he received his first beating for answering to ‘Matt’, recalls one vicious row between Kay and gas supply fitter Jim, which was sparked by him asking for more potatoes on his dinner.

He also said his mouth was also washed out with soap for using swear words.
