Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed that he has recently undergone another heart surgery.

The actor, 73, took to Instagram on Friday to share snaps post-operation and to tell that he is “feeling fantastic” after having his aortic valve replaced.

Opening up on the procedure to his fans, The Terminator star typed: “Thanks to the team at the Cleveland Clinic, I have a new aortic valve to go along with my new pulmonary valve from my last surgery.

“I feel fantastic and have already been walking the streets of Cleveland enjoying your amazing statues. Thank you to every doc and nurse on my team!”

Arnold looked chipper in the photos he shared online with some showing him sporting a blue tracksuit as he walked about post-surgery.

Under the snap he recieved a number of well wishes and one of his sons – Patrick Schwarzenegger – urged his dad to not hit the gym.

“PLEASE DONT GO WORKOUT TODAY!!” he penned alongside a number of heart emojis.

His other son Joseph Baena also added: “Love you, dad! How are you already hitting a lat spread???”

According to the NHS website, an aortic valve replacement is a type of open heart surgery used to treat problems with the heart’s aortic valve.

The aortic valve controls the flow of blood out from the heart to the rest of the body.

An aortic valve replacement involves removing a faulty or damaged valve and replacing it with a new valve made from synthetic materials or animal tissue.

The site also states that it is major operation that isn’t suitable for everyone and can take a long time to recover from.

Arnold had another heart operation in 2018 where he had a new pulmonary valve inserted.
