Ed Sheeran is set to divide some of his most cherished possessions between fans in a charity auction.
The star, 29, will aid causes in his home county Suffolk after his parents helped set up the online clear-out.
Items include Lego bricks he played with as a kid, handwritten lyrics to hit single Perfect, a handmade You Need Me EP from 2009 – and a flyer and £3 ticket for his first gig at the Royal British Legion in home town Framlingham.
Other stars including David Beckham, Kylie Minogue and Usain Bolt have also donated items for the auction.
Ed’s parents John, 63, and Imogen, 60, wanted to create a lasting legacy from the Ed Sheeran : Made in Suffolk exhibition in Ipswich, which tells the story of Ed’s rise to stardom.
They got the idea of an auction to support the young in Suffolk after meeting Gina Long, founder of charity GeeWizz. Proceeds will help GeeWizz redevelop a playground for kids with special educational needs and disabilities.
And they will boost Zest, part of Ipswich’s St Elizabeth Hospice, which helps teens with progressive and incurable illnesses
John said: “Proceeds will help improve quality of care and wellbeing for children and young adults across Suffolk. We cannot think of a better legacy for the exhibition.”
Mrs Long added: The incredible generosity of Ed, the Sheeran family, our sponsors and auction lot donors around the world is truly overwhelming.”
