Tamera Mowry-Housley announced her departure from The Real seemingly out of nowhere nearly two weeks ago. Sources are now claiming that it was due to contract dispute.
Vlogger Tasha K confirmed the rumors that Tamera wanted to spend more time with her family while they’re home during the ongoing quarantine, but she also claimed that the women of The Real got their paychecks slashed because they are now filming at home.
Tasha explained that to put on a show in a studio in front of an audience costs much more than the home set up that the women have. Production used to pay for everything from gas to make up when the hosts would have to go to and from work and since the women can film from their kitchen — their salaries aren’t as hefty as they once were.
Tasha went on to say that the actress figures that instead of taking the slashed check and missing valuable time with her little ones, she would rather leave the show altogether.

This comes after she announced via Instagram: ‘For seven years, my home and heart has been at The Real. The friendships that I’ve made there will last a lifetime, and the people that I’ve had the blessing to interview have changed my life for the better. I’m so proud of what all the ladies and I have accomplished there, including two well-deserved NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy. However, all good things must come to an end, and it’s with a bittersweet smile that I announced that I am moving on from The Real. To my fellow hosts, I love you, I will miss you, and I will always be there for you. Thank you for teaching me, supporting me, and loving all of me. Sisters forever. I’ll be rooting for you, as I look forward to spending more time with my family, pursuing amazing new opportunities, and embarking on the next chapter of my life.’
This comes after Amanda Seales opted out of her contract because The Real wasn’t a good fit for her ‘soul.’
Do you think the show will last now that they’re down another O.G?
