Adele fans ‘concerned’ she’s not singing on SNL after seven stone weight loss

Adele is preparing to host Saturday Night Live next weekend, five years after the release of her last album, but fans are baffled about why she is just hosting.

The 32-year-old chart topping singer announced that she would be taking the reins of SNL on October 24 and it comes after she made headlines with her seven stone weight loss.

Her fans were initially convinced that this would coincide with news of a new album being released, to follow up the global success of 25, which was released in 2015.

It is the first time she has hosted SNL but 12 years ago she appeared on the late night comedy show as a performer.

Adele’s fans have taken to Twitter to ask why she is not singing this time, raising concerns that she won’t perform again.

One fan asked why she was only hosting: “Wait. Adele’s in SNL, but she’s not singing? What’s even the point of that?”

Another tweeted: “Why is Adele not singing when she does SNL?”

A third added: “Adele is hosting SNL next week and she’s Not singing?? Hmmm, not sure how I feel about that.”

While a fourth was worried about the situation, tweeting: “You have Adele there and she isn’t singing?!?!”

For her part, Adele said the timing feels right after what was going on in the world the last time she hosted SNL.

She added: “It’ll be almost 12 years to the day that I first appeared on the show, during an election…which went on to break my career in America, so it feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no!”

She added: “I am besides myself that H.E.R will be the musical guest!!

“I love her SO much I can’t wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs, then confuse myself while I laugh my a**e off in between it all.

“See you next week.”

All eyes will be on SNL no doubt and the hope that Adele gives a glimpse of vocal prowess.
