Great British Bake Off star Dave Friday has become a first time dad.

The 30-year-old baker announced his happy news on Instagram, telling his followers that girlfriend Stacey has given birth to a baby boy, who they have named Ronnie.

Dave, who is starring in the current edition of the Channel 4 show, appeared to be delighting in fatherhood as he staged a slew of adorable pictures of his son – including one of him holding a tiny whisk.

Another snap showed baby Ronnie chilling out on the sofa with Dave and Stacey’s pet dog and another of him being cuddled by his adoring parents.

“The wait is finally over!” cried Dave in the caption.

“We’re thrilled to welcome little Ronnie to the world. So excited to start the next chapter of our lives.”

Little Ronnie will be able to see his dad progress in Bake Off after Dave survived another week on the competition.

Armoured Guard Dave was overjoyed to take part in the baking contest, but admits his biggest thrill was meeting idol Noel Fielding.

He described getting to chat to the comedian as a ‘life long dream.’

While meeting the Mighty Boosh star was a highlight, Dave’s fortunes took a knock in the first week when he suffered a cake calamity thanks to rival Sura.

Viewers watched in horror as Sura attempted to swat a fly that had made its way into the tent and knocked Dave’s freshly baked cakes on the floor in the act.

Sura was the latest contestant to be eliminated after failing to impress with her Chocolate Week bakes.

Writing an emotional farewell to the show, Sura said she was lucky to have taken part.

“What an amazing journey was this year’s Bake Off? I think we were fortunate to be grouped up together and 12 strangers became friends and then family in a matter of weeks,” she wrote.
